"Jason Returns" - 09/01/2006 (Lucid)

"Jason Returns"
09-01-2006
Dream #1
(Lucid)

Some girl and I were driving down a back-road, somewhere, at night. If I remember correctly, I looked in the rear-view mirror and happened to see Jason Voorhees sitting in the backseat. The second I saw him, he lunged forward and started trying to attack us from behind. I think the girl was driving, because I was trying to fend him off from the front seat, grabbing his arm as he tried to stab us with his knife.

The struggle in the car caused us to slide off the road and crash into the trees that were alongside it. I’m pretty sure we were knocked “unconscious” after the crash, because I remember “coming to” (I use quotations because I’m sure losing consciousness in dreams is illusory) and it being dawn. The first thing I thought about was Jason attacking, so I started looking around for him, immediately. I looked out the window and saw him, strangely, just walking away into the woods, knife in hand, completely ignoring us.

The car was a total wreck, so the girl and I started walking down this road way out in B.F.E. (for those familiar with the term. Haha.) After a few miles, we came to this HUGE plantation-type house, in the middle of nowhere. There were a lot of people living in this house - most of them around our age - and they took us in. We made a lot of friends there.

Nightfall came again and, before I knew it, ol' Jason was back. I first caught a glimpse of him walking across a doorway or something, in some dark, random hall. At first, we were all being the victims, as he was trying to just kill however many of us humans as he could (though, I don’t remember anyone dying).

It was around this time that I realized I was dreaming. I rushed Jason and began attacking the hell out of him with punches and kicks, ducking and dodging the swipes from his knife - basically, kicking his ass all around the room, though he wasn't necessarily taking any damage. I ended off with a nice combination of kicks that set him up near one wall, and finished with a jump kick that sent him flying backward, out of the window of the 5th (or so) floor of this house. Having had my fun, I realized how he seemed to come and go with nightfall, so, I tested a theory and focused on the night sky, using my lucidity to will it into turning to day time. When I looked back out the window, and the now-sunlit yard, Jason was heading off down the road, into the woods again, away from us.

During the day, fading in an out of lucidity, I remember telling people about the previous Jason lucid dream I'd had, and even about the strange coincidence of having the dream before having to take my daughter to her school because she missed the bus, the next day, and her school being named “Crystal Lake.” (Which is the actual name of her school, in waking life, and, of course, the name of the setting of the Jason movies).

After a while, feeling strong lucidity again, and having been doing stuff like looking at my hands throughout the day, (still within the dream) I got tired of going with the flow and decided to have some more fun.

I looked at the sky, outside, and focused again, watching it change as I made the day melt into night, once more. No sooner did the sky grow dark than I saw the large black silhouette roaming through the hallways. He was back, just as I’d expected. I hid behind a doorframe, as Jason came stalking into a room where a bunch of us were (earlier) sitting around and talking. Some of the people started freaking out, and then I came up and rushed Jason from behind, and we started fighting again. I kept kicking his ass and he kept trying to slice me, but I was just too fast for him. Suddenly, the DreamViews Lucid Task of the Month popped into my head, even though the last day for it was yesterday, and I thought about how I wished I’d ripped his heart out, last time I dreamed of fighting him, to complete the task, but didn't. (The task of the month, at the time, was to try to rip someone's heart out - even your own. Then, report back to the forums what happened. We had a good sense of humor about these tasks. Lol.)

So, not wanting the miss the chance - while in the middle of a punch combination - I suddenly stiffened my fingers straight into a knife-handed strike formation and jabbed them deep into his chest, feeling them tear through his soiled leather jacket, his flesh and bone. Inside, I curled my fingers into a fist and yanked them back out.

Buuuuuut (there’s always a “but.”), I found out that he had no heart. When I opened my fist, there was nothing but a strange ball of bright white light. It was like his soul.

I sat there wondering what the hell to do with it. My first impulse was to just eat it (don’t ask me why) but I decided against it, somehow getting the feeling that I didn’t want Jason Voorhees’s soul rattling around inside of me. Call me crazy.

Can’t remember what I did with it, but I remember turning night into day again, so I think it just disappeared along with Jason’s body.

(There was another dream where I was at my house and some of my family was over. I think I started this one lucid. The first thing I remember doing was, while outside in my backyard, making the sun set. Sure enough, Jason appears, having followed me into this dream as well, as I pretty much expected him to. We went at it in the backyard for a little bit, and I’m sure there was more to it than that, but I don’t remember much after this part.)

"No R.I.P. for the Weary" - 11/23/2012 (Lucid + FA)

"No R.I.P. for the Weary"
11/23/2012
Dream #2
(Lucid + FA)

I was in my old house in Canterbury. My baby's mom, G, was gone, and I was in our room, while her father was asleep in his own room, across the house. It was nighttime outside, and I was getting ready for bed. There was some kind of figurine, which I was moving from one spot to another, when I suddenly began to feel eyes on me. I looked toward the window, still holding the figurine. Through the curtains, inside, and the bushes which sat outside the window, I saw a face and two eyes staring back at me. It was 'Julie'. She gave me a mischievous smile and moved away from the window, as if to try and undo the fact that I had caught her spying on me. A little excited by this, I decided to go to the front door and invite her in. (Even though we were still living together, for a short while afterward, my ex and I had already had a mutual separation, by this point, IRL.)

When I walked to the living room, I went to open what I thought was the front door, and it turned out to be my ex's dad's room door, which had switched sides of the house. I apologized to him and then went to the other side of the house, closer to where the front door should be, given this (new) layout. When I opened this door, it was the door to the carport, instead. I realized how strange this was. When I turned back to the living room, I recognized that everything was backward. The house was set-up completely differently than it had been in waking life. It occurred to me that I was dreaming. What I didn't know was how long I'd been dreaming. I remembered that 'Julie' was supposed to be coming in/over, and I'd wondered if I had fallen asleep before she arrived. Unsure about this, and quite anxious see where things were going to go with her, I tried to wake myself up, to make sure she wasn't really coming over.

I "woke up" on my bed - completely oblivious to the fact that I was still dreaming - and went to the door (still in my old house, not my present one). 'Julie' was there, and I let her in, happy to see that I hadn't missed the opportunity. She hung out in the room for a while, and then we inevitably started to fool around. Just then, there was a knock at the door. I went back out to open it, and my other, most recent ex-girlfriend, M, was standing there. I knew that M and 'Julie' didn't really like each other, so I was trying to stall M, so that she wouldn't know exactly what was going on here, since she and I were still friends after our breakup. It wasn't very long after this awkward moment, that I involuntarily received the most perfect distraction possible...

Zombies.

Out of nowhere, a small band of zombies made its way into the house. (I had been talking with a coworker about The Walking Dead, the tv show, last night). We all scrambled to get out of the house, grabbing whatever make-shift weapons that we could. Passing by the kitchen, I remember turning back to grab the knife set from off of the counter. We made our way through the laundry room and into the carport, and I had to frantically stab at some of the undead that were trying to clamber over the fence to get us. While my arm was extended, one of the zombies reached its head up and opened wide, aiming to take a huge chunk out of it. I saw the teeth come down toward my arm, and I thought to myself "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" knowing what was in store for me. All of a sudden, as if because of that moment of panic, the zombie's mouth froze in place with its teeth just resting around my arm, having not bitten into it. It was literally just resting there. Only taking a short moment to wonder 'what the hell?' I then got myself back in gear, and we began to move away from the house.

We didn't get very far before a black van (identical to the one that G used to drive IRL, actually) came screeching around the corner, directly toward us. We tried to desperately dive out of the way, but the van ended up smashing into M and then crashing into the house. I ran over to the vehicle and saw that M was in really bad shape after the impact, but just barely still alive. Her body looked pretty mangled, and her face was all bloodied and bruised. She needed medical attention, and fast. I knelt over her, trying to tend to her and make sure she was still alive, and some bratty kid - from a crowd that had gathered after the accident - was teasing me by saying something like "Awww, look at you, taking care of the wittle baby..." or something similar. I told the kid off - but really wanted to kick his ass - and went back to care for M. There is a bit of a memory gap here, where I can't remember exact details, but it turned out that the driver of the van was someone from the syndicate that was holding Wade Wilson - aka Deadpool - captive (in the previous dream of the night, which can be read here).

JS, another neighborhood friend of mine, showed up, and we were able to take this murderous driver down, after dragging him out of the wreckage. He'd tipped us off - somehow - that there were more of them coming after me, because I had allegedly helped Wade escape, earlier (though I don't actually remember having a presence in the previous dream. Just watching it the events unfold).

Another set of headlights beamed into the area, notifying us that someone else would be coming around the corner soon. I told JS that they would be coming for me, and to get M out of there. I knew that the zombies were still in the area, but I had to draw all attention away from my friends. Just as the next vehicle was coming around the bend, I took off and ran around to the other side of the house. Pivoting at the far side, to circle around the building and let the car pass by where I had once been, I looked to one side, as something had caught my eye. There, leaning up against the wall, was Robocop. He was just...standing there. It looked like he was in a sleep-stasis mode, with his head down, hiding back behind some bushes as if he had been placed there. I thought to myself 'damn, I could really use his help, right now,' but I had to keep moving, because I was still in the open and knew that any vehicle passing by my house would see me, once they looked around the corner.

I rounded the back side of the house, and then came back around on the other side. From there, I could see JS helping M down the street, holding her up while walking beside her. I took one more look around the corner, to make sure the coast was clear, and went to meet them, knowing that the pursuing car had already passed where we'd once been. Just as I reached them, though, I was attacked from behind. A man who reminded me of Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) from the movie 'Demolition Man' was all over me. We started fighting in the street, and this dude apparently knew what he was doing. He had counters for almost everything I threw at him, and I was beginning to think that I was going to lose this match. Suddenly, I got a hold of a pair of handcuffs - though I can't remember where I got them from. It took a bit more struggle, but I was able to get them fitted on his wrists. He wasn't done, though. He kept fighting me, tenaciously, and was boasting to me about how he could pick his cuffs. He said that once he got his hands free, he was going to kill me. We struggled some more - both of us now lying on the asphalt - and I had to hold his wrists apart to try to keep one hand from reaching the other cuff.

Eventually, though, he overpowered me and snapped one of the cuffs off. Before he could act, I grabbed the fingers of one of his hands. I could see the shock grow in his eyes as I began to push backward on the fingers. He was silently pleading with me not to break them. In my heart, I really didn't want to break them. I knew it was going to be a sickening feeling, as I had never broken someone's bones before, in waking life. This was a matter of life and death, though, and this guy had to be immobilized. With one final push, I snapped all four fingers backward, to where they literally folded back on his hand, severed at the knuckles and leaving only bloody stumps attached to the palm.

The man screamed in pain, but kept on fighting. Even with a broken hand, he ended up overpowering me and kneeling over me, pulling out some kind of weapon and making a gesture which telegraphed that he was about to introduce me to a world of hurt. Just in time, though, gunfire rang out, and the man stopped. He looked from me to JS, nearby, who was holding a machine gun (that I immediately just assumed he had taken from one of the villains). We then looked from the gun barrel to the spot behind my opponent, where the gun was aimed, just in time to see a zombie - which was just about to attack me and the guy I was fighting, fall to pieces, its body practically split in half by the short burst of gunfire. Spouts of blood squirted up from the split torso, which then fell to the ground. My attacker looked just as shocked as I was. He looked back at JS, who had just saved his life, and then down at me. Seemingly having a change of heart, he stood up and reluctantly backed off.

Then, another set of headlights cut through the brief pause. Another van came roaring around the turn, and we all scrambled away, again, before it could run us over. I jumped to my feet, borrowing the gun from JS and running after the passing van, which rounded another corner and tried to make a U-Turn. Running up on the van, I let bullets spray into the driver's side window, killing the driver, opening the door and throwing him out of the van. I then jumped inside and brought the van around to pick up the others. We hauled ass toward the front of the neighborhood, just as another van was passing us, presumably driving to where we'd just been. I knew that they would be turning back around shortly, once they realized we were no longer there. Gunning the engine toward the intersection at the front of the neighborhood, and looking back in the rear-view to see if the other van was behind us, I nearly froze when I turned back to my front side and saw a low-flying fighter jet heading straight toward us, in the night sky. Before I even had a chance to react, a volley of missiles streaked out from the jet, sailing directly over the roof of our van and blowing up the van that had been coming up behind us. The jet screamed through the air and flew over top of us, trailing the missile exhaust, and I realized that the help had come from Wade's team that had come to stop the evil syndicate, before (but still wasn't able to piece together that these were dreams, even though I remembered the events in the previous one).

I was momentarily relieved, but then I remembered that we were driving one of those same vans, and that the jet would probably be coming around to make another pass and take us out - not knowing who was driving. I told everyone that we had to ditch the van as soon as possible, and I sped through the intersection to get as far away from the neighborhood as possible before stopping so we could all bail out. I don't remember ever actually leaving the van though, before waking up.

"Psycho-Science Incorporated" - 04/19/2021 (Lucid)

"Psycho-Science Incorporated"
04/19/2021
(Lucid)

(There were a lot of parallels between the building in this dream, and the AAA Headquarters building, where I previously worked. It was a large, scenic office building, shared by two associate entities, with a sort of mirrored architecture, where the front and back sides of the building were almost identical. I'd also fallen asleep after playing some Final Fantasy VII Remake, which my girlfriend rightly acknowledged might have influenced the whole "bio-engineering" aspect of the dream.)

Working in the "front side" of this expansive office building, in this dream, my crew and I really hadn't much knowledge of what went on in the company that shared the opposite end of the complex. I remember vague footage of them having a mysterious CEO who was known for going on these periodic "retreats," where he would just disappear for a while, with no contact with the rest of the world. Not long after one of these announcements had been made, I found myself having to get around to the back side of the building (for some reason I can't remember), and deciding to just walk through the other company's office space, instead of going around the entire perimeter, outside.

I pushed in the two, heavy doors that separated us via a connecting hallway, and immediately stepped into a large, white room (which looked a lot like some of the broader phone rooms in the AAA building). Trying not to make too much of a spectacle of myself, I quickly shuffled through the room, toward the far wall, maybe 50 yards away from where I'd entered. It was only when I was about halfway through the room that I began to take notice of my surroundings and the employees within it. Each employee was standing at their own podium, in paralleled formations on opposite sides of the room. They were wearing lab coats and each working on their own specific projects. The further that I got into the room, the more I began to take in what it looked like they were doing.

On each podium was some sort of grotesque, bio-engineering experiment. Everything from animals to human babies were being unceremoniously dissected and spliced with other organisms or mechanizations. I was so stunned by what I was seeing, that by the time I'd progressed to a reasonable level of concern, I was already on the far side of the large room, and in front of the elevator. Not 100% sure that I walked into it on my own accord, I'm feeling more that I was sort of ushered, hurriedly into the elevator. Whatever the case, it was taking me down (into what would have been the parking garage, at my old job).

When the elevator door opened, I was in a dimly-lit, industrial area. It took a moment - and a few steps inside - before I realized that this wasn't a parking garage, at all. There was a sense of dread, here, as I looked around, spotting blood-stained walls and steel-barred holding stations. Still in a state of shock, my feet were carrying me around this room, even though I instantly knew that I shouldn't be here. It wasn't until a few moments later, that I began to notice the severed body parts and other human remains that were strewn about the ground. This place was a dungeon, and it was a thousand times worse than anything I was seeing on the surface. Just when I was finally about to make my turn to get the hell out of this place, I was cornered by some agency employees, standing between me and the elevator. Once I made it blatantly clear to them that I was going to be leaving this place - one way or another - the employees brought in backup. That backup came in the form of a grizzly bear-sized human / dog chimera; it was a disgusting-looking creature that resembled a gigantic, human baby with pale, hairless skin and facial features that looked like they were constantly mutating from human, to dog - and back again - like molding clay which was constantly being sculpted as the creature stepped passed the line of employees and lumbered toward me.

I can't quite recall how violent the encounter was, but I know that I was able to fight like Hell and was soon scrambling into the elevator and making my way back up to the ground floor. Once back in the large, main room, I shuffled quickly across the office / lab, trying to keep a low profile, despite my state of terror, but I could clearly see the more-menacing stares coming from the other employees as they looked up at me from their experiments.

Only slightly relieved to be out of that lab, I was able to make it back to my company's portion of the building, frantically trying to explain to everyone about the evil, twisted corporation we shared space with. No one seemed the slightest bit interested, though. However, at some point during my ranting, I realized the absurdity of the entire situation. Eventually, I realized that this was all a dream and became lucid.

As is often the case, when I become lucid during some sort of "big bad" situation such as this, I began to set my mind on walking right back into that office and laying waste to their entire operation. Sure, I knew it was just a dream, but that's a level of satisfaction that I can rarely turn down. This time, instead of walking through the building, I decided to go around the perimeter and approach the other company from the outside. Apparently, though, many of my coworkers had gotten intrigued by my mission, and they'd formed a very large entourage behind me which, oddly, included my mother and one of my cousins. I wasn't sure what kind of Hell was going to break loose, once I started to storm this place, so I tried to lead the pack and get the rest of my dream character posse to hang back, while I scoped things out. My mother and cousin, though, especially, seemed a little too gung-ho and started trying to rush their way inside and to the nearest elevator.

Despite my warnings, they hopped into the elevator, and I ran in with them. We were taken back down to the basement. The first thing I saw, once we stepped into the dungeon-esque holding facility, was an employee mutilating a young woman who seemed to be coming off of her sedative. The coat-clad man was taking a saw to one of her legs and just mercilessly grinding away on it, tearing through the flesh and bone as she wailed in agony. The intensity of the scenario kept making me lose focus and forget that I was dreaming, prompting us to get caught by armed guards and taken to what looked like a small classroom or presentation room, surrounded by men with rifles. While being shoved down into a seat, I began to suspect, again, that I was dreaming. Motioning toward a nearby chair with a point of my index finger, I attempted to move the chair with my mind. It took a couple of discrete attempts, but I was able to nudge it with telekinesis, confirming to me, once again, that I was dreaming.

Immediately, I reached my hand out in front of me and focused on one of the armed men across the room, snatching the rifle out of his hand with telekinesis and pulling it over to me. When I caught the weapon and began to fire upon all of the guards, the gun was shooting large, plastic cannon balls, with heavy *chunk* *chunk* sounds, like the cannon games you might find at a carnival game booth. With this gun being pretty much harmless, I tried to snatch an even more high-tech looking gun from another guard, from yards away. Once I caught his gun, I could see that it was actually just a high-tech video camera. Finding it useless, I simply decided to rely on my telekinesis and starting throwing guards this way and that, around the room, while all of my tag-alongs escaped.

We fanned out through the office building, trying to find the exit, ending up near the expansive, wall-length windows that I had seen, upon my first entry into the lab - though it was now dark, outside. Unable to find a door to let us out, I walked over to one of the windows and slid one finger across it, trying to slice my way through the glass like a razor. As vivid as this dream was, though, I was unable to gain that level of control. Instead, I placed both hands upon the glass and began to vibrate them quickly, attempting to shatter the glass, rather than cutting through it. This was much easier, and a large panel of the glass wall smashed to the floor, allowing us all to flood out into the parking lot.

We all converged on our side of the building, and I began to lose lucidity again while we talked about our experiences inside. One girl - sobbing - said "look what they did to me!" She, then, held up her bloody, severed forearm, showing that they'd already began chopping her up, as they'd done the other girl that I'd seen in the basement. Suddenly, more armed guards came streaming out of the building and opened fire on our entire group. We scattered, once again, and I'd happened to catch a glimpse of the CEO from earlier in the dream, watching us - discretely - from atop a bicycle, beneath a nearby tree, as if he'd just been observing this whole ordeal. Remembering his face from before, I once again remembered that this was all a dream. My lucidity had returned, and the last thing I remember was - once again - storming back over to the building and the armed guards now waiting outside, with the intention to continue to take them on.

"Rally-Crossed" - 10/25/2020

"Rally-Crossed"
10/25/2020

Sitting in a truck, in what seemed to be a Wal-Mart parking, my girlfriend, myself, and one other guy found ourselves parked next to members of the Proud Boys "militia" group, as they were having a rally. I was in the driver's seat, she was in passenger, and the other guy was in the back, behind her. On her side, one of the "militiamen" turned toward her and made some sort of sarcastic gesture. Pretty true-to-character, she returned the gesture, in an equally-snide manner. This obviously didn't sit well with him, and he began making threatening gestures in our direction. I could see that this wasn't going to go well, so I slipped the truck in reverse and backed out of the parking spot. When I turned the wheel, in order to pull into the driving lane, I had to inadvertently inch toward one of the armed men, trying to clear the parking space. Quite ridiculously, the man looked at me in total terror - as if I was hellbent on running him over - reached down to his holster and drew his handgun. I immediately threw the truck back into reverse and, screeched away, just as he opened fire and bullets began cracking into, and through, the windshield. Frantically, I spun the wheel and turned the truck around, still hearing his gunfire smacking into the metal frame while we fled the parking lot. Behind us, I could see that a large portion of their rally-goers were jumping into their Jeeps and trucks and giving chase. Between them, I could see a large, bearded, suited man
(who looked like a cross between Gavin McGuiness and Connor McGregor), stalking ominously behind the trucks as if he was the commander turning them loose.

This parking lot seemed to stretch on, forever, and was part of a massive strip mall, in an exaggerated version of my old hometown of Lake Mary, FL. Trying not to lead our chase out of the relative-safety of a populated area. We looked for a police officer on the strip mall grounds. The first one we approached - after we told him that we were being followed by men who just tried to kill us - said that he was simply a security guard and that handling such a dire situation was "not his job." Nearby, we found an actual, female police officer, and tried to tell her what was happening. She didn't seem all that interested, but before we could try to convince her that we were in danger, the caravan of trucks came barreling around a storefront corner, speeding toward us and the apathetic cop.

Not wanting to stick around and find out what they were going to do, once they caught us, the three of us immediately dove back into the truck. This time - having no time to get back to our original seating - I found myself in the rear passenger seat; my girlfriend retained her front passenger spot; and our mutual guyfriend jumped in behind the wheel. We didn't even have a chance to drive away, this time, as the lead truck pulled up along our passenger side. Immediately, the truck's passenger, and at least one person standing on the bed, pulled out rifles and opened fire on us. I ducked down in the back seat, and drew my pistol. Nonsensically, I was able to return fire while pressing myself back against the seat, even though such a hail of gunfire - from that range - would have completely shredded our entire vehicle, were this waking life. From behind the seat, I could see my girlfriend up front, ducked down as I was, and firing back at them with a fully-automatic pistol. I remember becoming distracted, for a moment, and wondering where the hell she got that thing. (I later came to remember that we had been playing "Rogue Company" together, over the weekend, and that I was suprised to see, at one point, that the character she chose had a machine pistol in her loadout.)

This bombastic, unrealistically close-range firefight went on for a few short seconds, before I felt a dull thump on the side of my head, knowing that I had been grazed. Over the sound of the gunfire, I was able to yell at our driver's seat friend to get us the hell out of there. He finally hit the gas, and we lurched away from our attackers, speeding and skidding through the parking lot and trying to lose them. This eventually brought us off-road (in an area that was previously undeveloped, when I used to live in the city), and had just barely given them the slip, when our friend slumped over the wheel and began caughing and wheezing. Obviously, he had been hit with gunfire (which would have been strange, since he was the one furthest away from the shooters). Before we could really check on him, I saw the terroristic caravan of jeeps and trucks rushing through thet dirt, toward us, from behind. I jumped in the front seat (though I can't remember if I moved the driver out of the way, or if he just "disappeared") and slammed on the gas. The chase continued, back onto the street and through the small city, as night fell, and the last thing I can remember was trying to lead the chase directly toward the Sherriff's office, nearby.

"Big Bad Hellhound" - 10/04/2020 (Lucid)

"Big Bad Hellhound"
10/4/2020
(Lucid)

(This dream was obviously brought on by a mish-mash of games that my girlfriend and I had been playing, this weekend, as well as the movie "Shazam," which we'd watched last night.)

I was with my girlfriend, and a few other people, hanging out in someone's home. "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was coming on TV, and my girlfriend said that she had always wanted to see what it was all about, and that she was interested in watching it. Immediately, this struck me as weird, because she is certainly not the "horror movie type," in general. I tried to warn her against it, saying that the movie contained some pretty insanely-disturbing imagery, and that she may not know what she's quite getting herself into. She didn't care and insisted on watching it, so we just let the movie play. The only thing I remember were a couple of brief scenes (that are not actually in the movie). One, where someone - likely Freddy, in disguise - was gorily ripping an entire electric guitar out of someone's body, tearing it out through their chest cavity, and another, where a man, possessed by another entity which had manifested itself as a second head on his neck, was forcefully trying to push the head back down into the skin of his collar. (This was reminiscent of some of the Seven Deadly Sins manifestations, in "Shazam.") Before long, my girlfriend was saying that she had enough, and didn't want to watch anymore.

There was a shift in narrative, here, where the entire scenario became some sort of horror-movie, itself. I was trapped in the house (not sure where my girl and the others had gone), and I was trying to escape some sort of killer stalking around, inside. For some reason (that I can't recall), I couldn't go out the front door, as it was like I wasn't "allowed" to be in the home, or something, and couldn't alert the homeowners that I was there. Anyway, I ended up escaping through a back window, and out into the neighborhood, at night. There was an oversized pick-up truck, basically doing donuts in the street, and a young woman came running up the sidewalk, telling me - as she passed - that she had to sneak back into the house I'd just left, because she'd left some sort of item there. It all felt very much like an MMO game kind of encounter, where players are all just off doing their own thing, and often crossing paths, along the way. Then, when I started thinking about where I was going to go, next, a full-on map HUD display popped up in my field of view, as if I was playing a game. (Specifically, it looked like the map from "Dying Light," which my girl and I had played.) I could see that I was on an island, with no way out, and my mind apparently rationalized that I had completed my objective - escaping the house - and that I had to kind of "exit" the whole setting, as if returning to the lobby, after a game.

Suddenly, I was attacked on the street, by some lumbering person. (I want to say that it was a zombie, but I can't be sure.) While trying to fight off the attack, I could see something like one of the "QuickTime" animation buttons showing up in my field of view, as if I had to repeatedly press a button, in order to escape the attacker's clutches. The more I panicked, the faster this gauge was moving, and I could see little flashes of light forming in my field of view. At this very moment, I knew that my way of "escape" was to "wake up," and that the little flashes of light were my eyes trying to open up into the real world. However, though this was "lucid dreaming" logic, I don't feel that I ever got fully 'lucid,' at all and I was just going through the motions of trying to wake myself up.

Immediately, the entire scenario shifted, again, and this time, I was watching some unknown character wake up, on a television screen. He jolted up out of bed, as if awakening from a nightmare. I was now in a different house, along with some of my closest waking life friends, and we were huddled around the TV, watching whatever movie this was. Sooner or later, we had left the house and were walking around, outside. Again, it was night out, and it was eerily foggy. Judging by the architecture of the streets around us, everything had a sort of an Old Germany / Western Europe feel to it. (We had also been playing "Zombie Army Trilogy.") We'd discovered a pack of "demon-dogs" that were roaming the streets, and we had to sneak, stealthily, around them, to avoid getting spotted. However, when turning onto another, misty back alley, we'd seen a group of the dogs at the far end, and they saw us, as well. What was worse, though, was when we watched what looked like a group of tall trees shift into focus, through the mist, behind the dogs. Though I couldn't see the tops of the "trees," through the fog, I quickly became aware that these weren't trees, at all. They were *legs*. Specifically, they were the legs of another, enormous, demon dog. This one, though, was well over 50-feet tall - like a giant Hell Hound of a gritty anime, brought to life.

The beast belted out a wall-shaking roar and thundered into a sprint toward us. Naturally, we turned and ran the other way, fully aware that we were not going to be able to outrun this thing. Finally, coming to the end of the road - in the form of a high bridge or overpass, we instinctively dove over the railing, turning back while in the air, just in time to see the massive jaws of the gigantic beast snapping shut just, a few feet over our heads. Inevitably, though, we continued to fall away, off of the elevated road, and down toward what would have been a certain death.

But - just like that - I was back with my friends, again, roaming the streets of this foggy, old-world environment, slipping around in the dark, to hide from the demon dogs. Then, just as before, we saw the towering legs of the "alpha," stepping out of the fog. It sprinted at us, once again, but before turning to run, I remembered that this had happened before. Still, instinctively, I ran, bolting down the street, with my friends, away from the towering hound behind us. Glancing at the builds that flanked us, I remembered a conversation my girlfriend and I had been having (the night before), about wall-running in a video game.

Suspecting, now, that I was merely in a dream, I shifted my sprint to the right and took a few, diagonal steps up the wall beside me, twisting into an acrobatic flip and - somehow - dodging the enormous dog that had been chasing us. Afterward the dog was either destroyed by us, or simply disappeared, altogether (though I can't remember which).

Shortly after ridding ourselves of the beast, my friends and I were talking about what had happened. I don't recall much of the dialogue, but I specifically telling them about my having to wake up, so that I could remember everything that went on, in the dream. The last thing I remember of the scenario was one of my friends telling a hilarious joke that had everyone cracking up, just as I was purposefully pulling myself out of the dream and waking myself up.

(I'm not sure, but I believe this one might have resulted in an actual false awakening, because I remember waking up with my laughter actually carrying over from the dream, and into waking life. My girlfriend was lying beside me, as usual, but I didn't get out of bed. I just relaxed, as if to drift back off to sleep. Then, moments later, I was waking up, again. I still don't know if the laughing bit was real or another dream, though, so I'm not counting it as a false awakening in this journal entry.)

"Spores" - 2/24/2008 (Lucid)

"Spores"
02/24/2008
(Lucid)

(I had gone to sleep at like 8 a.m., after tending to someone who’d got into a car accident, outside my house. Trying to fight the urge to sleep all day, I popped some b6, thinking it might help me wake up at a decent time, and give me some vivid dreams.)

There was an accident in front of my house, in the early morning (which actually happened, that morning, in waking life). When I went outside to investigate, I saw a bunch of DreamViews members hanging out, around the busted up cars. MT was there, and the first thing I noticed was that she was wearing an uncharacteristically-revealing blouse and had the body of a super-model (which I blame on a recently-posted picture).

Sooner or later, I ended up becoming lucid, after noticing that I was surrounded by DV members. Understandably, the very first thing I did was look for MT (Don't judge me!), but I ended up getting so caught up in whatever everyone else was doing, that I’d forgotten my intention, when I didn’t see her right away. I did take a look at my hands, to try to stabilize the dream, because I didn’t want it to slip away from me. My hands seemed to pulsate a little bit, but they weren’t very distorted, aside from that. LS - another senior member - was there, and he invited everyone back to his house for a party, so I decided to tag along. His house was really run-down, on the outside, but seemed like a pretty tight pad, on the inside. It was somewhere around here, where I lost my lucidity.

Now, this is where things got weird. LS had some strange plant. This plant spread spores around, that had two really strange properties. 1) Wherever a spore would land, another large plant would grow really quickly. It would be like watching time-lapsed photography and watching it go through all the stages, but within seconds. And 2) these new plants that grew would act like magnets and attract anything organic to them. I mean anything, no matter the size.

So, something happened and some of these spores were blown toward me, getting stuck in the fabric of my jeans. As I tried getting them out, they began growing. I could feel the roots spreading, and they were making me itch like f*cking crazy. (I blame that on the b6. I can tell, right away, that it was one of those all-too-familiar b6-induced itches that were more than just dream-related). Then, it started, slowly: small things began becoming attracted to me, house plants and whatnot. I ran outside, trying to get these spores off of me, and then the lawn itself ripped up like Velcro and became attracted to me. I peeled it off, and noticed it was still attempting to cling to me, so I ran. As I was running, everything organic that I passed – grass, trees, animals, everything – began following me as if I, myself, was a magnet and was drawing them to me. Sooner or later, it got to a point where I couldn’t stop running, because, if I did, thousands of pounds of whatever has been flying after me would just crash into me and probably crush me under its weight. So..I just kept running…

"Hallucinogen" - 08/10/2007

"Hallucinogen"
08/10/2007
(Holy Shit. ...I just had one of the freakiest experiences ever. Fighting a cold, I had some DayQuil and a multi-vitamin, before bed, and this was probably my clearest experience of waking-world audio slipping into a dream, that I can remember. I have this 2-part ambient breakbeat music set, called Jason Dunne - Mind the Scape, that I had let loop, overnight, because there are some very chilled-out songs on the sets. Now, I have listened to different parts of this set - numerous times - but it seemed, until now, that I've only caught it in various places (usually, either starting it at a certain song I like, near the middle of the set, or waking up later in the night, still somewhere in the middle of the set), and I never actually heard the intro to the 2nd part of the set. Because of what just happened, I will probably never play this set again, when going to sleep! (Well, I don't know about that, really. It's still a dope set... Lol. But, anyway...)

To summarize the beginning of the music set: The music begins really dark and haunting, progressing along with a rolling echo effect, as if everything was sort of 'streaming together'. A man's voice comes on, really low, really slow, and begins to tell a story. As he's telling the story, the DJ is doing all kinds of freaky effects with his voice - bringing it high and low, with each sentence, from a normal man's voice, to a deep, ghostly voice, as he progresses through the story. Very creepy.)

So, in this dream, before I was ever conscious of the audio, I walked into what looked like a standard hotel room. There was a wide palette of blankets, spread on the floor, and my friends, T and J were both there. They said they had brought along a new sort of hallucinogen, and had made the palatte to lay on, while tripping. (By this time, I think the intro had started in the waking world - just the music - and it just hadn't seeped into the dream yet. My mind seemingly knew something was going on, though, because the dream atmosphere was about to change, drastically, in complete relation to the music.) Curious, I told them that I wanted to try it out, and we all took hits of this thick, black smoke. When it went in, I could feel it radiating through my body, on its way down. We all moved over to the palette and T flicked the light out, making the room almost completely dark, except for the light that was coming in through the window.

Laying down, and staring up at the ceiling, I could feel this smoke all through my body. It was cold - not too cold , but definitely enough for me to notice. The music (right on time) from my PC starting slipping into the dream, then, just as I felt myself going under. The world was a deep, rumbling echo, and this man's ghostly voice slowly streamed into me, from all sides. As he tells the story, the 'hallucinogen' fully kicks in and I'm caught looking at a picture on the wall. I can't remember what the original picture was, but from it, a ghostly apparition slowly phased forward, wafting out of the frame. It was the shadowy ghost of a female, the flesh of her features shredded, down to the bone, on at least 1/3 of her face.

She moved steadily toward us, appearing to actually grow larger, the closer she came. Her gaunt, skeletal mouth was moving, eyes gazing aimlessly toward us as she told this story (the audio from my PC), in the man's deep voice. [[Edit: I realized where I think my mind got the image for the ghost/woman. My screensaver is a slideshow of everything in my "Art" folder, which is also made up of a bunch of pics I get off of the Internet, as well as my own. I'd gotten up at about 1AM to use the bathroom and, when I laid(sp?) back down, I caught a glimpse of one of the "Celebrity Cyborg" pics I got off of Worth1000.com, in a contest where people used Photoshop and turned pics of celebs into cyborgs. It was this one, of Denise Richards: I distinctly remember thinking that I was going to have to do something about that image being on the slideshow, because it's not exactly the most pleasant thing to wake up to, in the middle of the night. Lo' and behold, it came back to completely own me, in this dream. Lol.]]

In all seriousness; it was f*cking horrifying. Strangely enough, though, it was thrilling, at the same time. I was instantly filled with the sense of a virtual omnipresence, in the room. The room was big enough to where I could see nothing, off to my side, but darkness, and not only did I see this ghost in front of me, getting closer, I felt like someone I couldn't see was standing right beside me, in the shadows. We all flattened against the palette, recoiling from the ghost, and I tried to shut my eyes, but it was like everything went white, instead of black, and I could see a dark rendition of the ghost, still, from behind my eyelids, steadily coming forward and telling this chilling-sounding story. The situation grew more and more intense (as did the storytelling, and accompanying music), until, finally, the intro came to something of a climax, after which, my brain simultaneously drew the ghost backward, into the painting. The feeling of the presence left, along with it.

I opened my eyes, and the lights were on, again. T, J, and I had just finished the (short) trip, and we were completely mind-blown. We were staring at each other like "Oh...my....God......WTF.." and breathing hard, with these crazy, almost masochistic grins on our faces. It was like riding-out a bad trip and just....loving every minute of it. ...Very weird feeling. T looked over and, as if giving me a pop-quiz, asked "Greg, what story was that??" smiling as if he already knew the answer, and just wanted to test me. I thought for a while, and answered: "Uh....the Tell-Tale Heart?" They both responded: "Hell yeah! Good call!" all surprised. I was surprised as Hell, too, seeing as how I'd just pulled that answer out of my ass.

At just this time the dream slowly began fading away, and this really lighter/up-tempo sort of song was gradually coming in (the next song in the set, after the intro), filling the hotel room, from all angles. It was perfect. It felt like we'd gone through a haunted ride, or something, at a theme park, and this was the reception music after you've gone through the 7th level of Hell, finally arriving back at the lobby. Lol.

(The music carried over, into the waking world, as I woke up, lying there in my bed, breathing hard, listening to the music and realizing that everything had just been a dream. I still wasn't quite sure if the dream had ended, because the musical transition was seamless - It felt like the two worlds had merged. I checked my clock a few times and made sure I was awake, then got up to my computer. The first thing I did was confirm that what I was hearing was a part of the set I was listening to, by scanning back a bit and playing the intro again. Sure enough, it was the same thing I'd heard in my dream. Listening to it again gave me chills, and I had to stop listening to it, beginning to see thast ghostly image in my head, once more.

I took the time to remember a sentence of the 'story,' and then I typed it into Google to see if I was right about the title. Turns out that I was wrong, and it wasn't the Tell-Tale Heart, but some spoken (not sung) lyrics to a Duran Duran song - 'Drive-By'. Haha. ...It actually seemed like it lasted a lot longer, when the ghost was telling it to us. Probably because I was scared shitless, and time seemed to stand still. ...Damn, what an experience, though.  I gotta get ready for work in about an hour, so I seriously doubt I'm going back to sleep. Heh. Also, I just realized that today is my (deceased) Dad's birthday. What a ghastly way to start it off.)

"Beyond Batman" - 02/27/2007 (Lucid)

"Beyond Batman"
02/27/2007
Dream #2
(Lucid)

Had another DILD, last night. I vaguely remember a lot more happening, before all of this - which had something to do with Batman and Robin - but right now I can't be too sure about the events. What I do know is that my first real memory, of this dream, was of being crouched on a pillar, high over nighttime courtyard, of sorts, when I figured out I was dreaming. I remember how much more aware I felt, upon this realization, than in the past couple of DILDs I've had. I could feel myself getting giddy at the sensation. Haha.

The first thing I did was look at my hands; they had little pink and yellow spots all over them. Once I looked away, again, I couldn't believe how much more clear everything had gotten. It was like the entire dream world - which had seemed purely visual, only a moment ago - expanded to all five senses. I was now completely immersed in the dream - to a level that (even after having had so many lucids in my lifetime) astonished me. So much, was this feeling of wherewithal, that - realizing that I'd never actually experimented with taste, while dreaming (I don't even know if I've ever tasted anything in a non-lucid), I licked the back of my hand, impulsively. It tasted just like real skin - somewhat bland and coppery.

Looking around my surroundings, a bit more, I deduced that this park/courtyard belonged to some deviant organization or corporation, and I had been on a mission, before becoming lucid. I can't remember if I actually was Batman or not, but I immediately imagined how much fun swinging around on grappling hook would be. I held up my hand and looked across the way, to another high pillar. At first, I tried to make the hook and rope just shoot out of my hand but, when that didn't work, I figured I'd have to be a little more practical about it. I put my arm down to the side and imagined Batman's grappling gun. When I picked my hand back up, into my field of view, I was holding it. The transition was pretty effortless, and I pulled the trigger and launched a grappling across the gap.

I started swinging around, from pillar to pillar - landing; firing at another spot; and continuing to swing without the slightest fear of gravity. It was just as much fun as I thought it would be! At one point, though, I swung low enough for my feet touched the grass. This activated some kind of security system, equipped with lasers and machine guns. An unfamiliar woman came out of nowhere and, at first, was trying to detain me. Around this time, I feel that it dawned on me, what it was I was doing in this facility, in the first place, but I can't remember, now.

She was soon chasing me around this courtyard, shooting at me with some sort of electric gun-thing of her own. After a while, though, during our cat-and-mouse, we'd started exchanging some dialogue and, eventually, was actually helping me carry out whatever my mission was. The security system had turned on her, and we found ourselves high up, in this tower overlooking the courtyard, hiding from the gunfire that was trained on our position. She told me where [whatever it was I was looking for] was hidden - in the center of a group of columns that circled around, what looked like, some sort of large, metallic sculpture.

I didn't even let her finish talking - getting all antsy and excited, once again - and I just dove out of the tower window. I could hear her scream something like "No wait!!!" while I shot another grappling hook and swung downward, at an angle, landing sideways on one of the columns, kinda like Spider-Man (though I can't remember whether I was actually sticking to the wall or just hanging on). Unexpectedly, the metallic sculpture thing suddenly started whirring and moving. A long, rectangular portion swung upward, to one side, and then turned in my direction. Now, only about 10 feet away from the nearest end of this now-raised cylinder, I could see that and I was staring down the barrel of a enormous, high-tech cannon.

From above, the girl screamed something that implied she'd been trying to tell me it was a gun, but I don't remember what her outburst was. Immediately, I jumped off of the pillar I'd been perched on, just as it exploded from an explosive round fired from the cannon.

(There feels like a gap in my recall right around here, but afterward...) Next thing I know, the woman was flying a helicopter and I had shot a grappling line to the bottom of it and was hanging on while she carried us away from the facility. While hanging, my mind began wandering and I suddenly got the urge to experience being one of my original RP characters, which I've never done before in a dream. I dropped off of the rope, into free-fall, and landed softly on a high rooftop - which had really cool architecture, like a cathedral or something - and I was thinking about how to do this. I was kind of apprehensive about spinning a new scene, because I hadn't had much luck with it in the past, but I decided to try it anyway.

Standing up straight, upon the angular rooftop, I held out my arms and spun around as fast as I could. At first, I was just watching the world blur, but then, I closed my eyes and thought of being somewhere else, with the intention of turning into my character. Unfortunately, I also had fear of waking up, in the back of my head, and I think that's what caused me to wake up, instead.

"Pencildragon" - 01/17/2017 (Lucid)

"Pencildragon"

Dream #2
(Lucid)

I was at some outdoor carnival or festival, held out in some rural field at dusk. Munching on cotton candy while I walked, I spontaneously realized that I was dreaming. Immediately, I was surprised at how much I could smell and taste the cotton candy (I have very few experiences with tastes and smells in lucid dreams), and even though the dream already felt very clear and grounded, I decided to take a few moments to touch my surroundings, running my hand along the wooden frame of a wooden kiosk nearby. Raising my free hand up in front of my face, I saw that my fingers were very wavy, which was a bit at odds with the solidity of everything else around me.

Quickly, I tried to think of what I had planned to do with my lucidity once attained it, before I'd gone to bed. I remembered the Dreamviews.com 'Tasks of the Month' and that I wanted to try the pencil task (which was to "ask a pencil to draw something for you"). I turned back to the kiosk, expecting to find a pad and pencil there, in which I could do the experiment. Sitting atop the counter, I found a pad and a few, loose, colored pencils. I picked up one pencil - blue, I believe - and set it in the center of the pad. Without speaking, I attempted to "will" the pencil to draw something for me. The only thing I remember, about the actual process, was the pencil moving back and forth and making a few scribbles, but it ended up drawing a (quite simplistic) dragon. (One of the art pieces I have been brainstorming on, in waking life, has been a dragon. I haven't yet drawn the final draft, but I did draw a dragon thumbnail, about a week ago).

Satisfied that I had completed the task, I took to the air and flew away from the carnival to do some exploring. While flying over the wide, green fields of the early evening countryside, I looked below me to see an actual dragon, roaming around the landscape and idly blowing plumes of fire at random. It had sort of a cartoonish, video game feel to it (I had been playing PlayStation VR, before bed - no dragon games, though), and felt as if it was just a manifestation of the dragon that was drawn on the paper. I decided not to bother with the creature and continued flying over the field. I don't really remember anything afterward.

"Ring Totem" - 01/07/2017 (Lucid)

For a while, now, I have been experimenting with using a "totem," inspired by the movie Inception, but without the "shared dreaming" aspect that they use in the movie's fictional world. For the purpose of lucid dreaming, the totem is an object to carry around with you, in waking life, as a reminder to constantly be aware of the concept of lucid dreaming. It can be something to focus on, periodically, while doing reality checks and testing my state, with the goal of having the habit work its way into my dreams and make it more likely that I will associate it with lucid dreaming and realize that I'm dreaming at the time.

My totem is a "magician's ring." (Pictured below.) I constantly rub my fingers on it (similar to touching objects in order to stabilize a dream) and question my conscious state throughout the day. I enjoy that it is magnetic, because it will often "interact" with things without warning, causing me to automatically think about lucid dreaming and spontaneously check my state whenever it happens. The latest bit of success I'd had was in realizing I was dreaming while walking through a hallway at work, where I normally focus on my totem and question my state.

"Ring Totem"
01/07/2017
(Lucid)

My earliest memory of this dream was having sex with my girlfriend on the living room couch. Afterward, we were continuing to be flirty in the kitchen, and I went to pick her up by her waist and set her on the counter. When I did so, I realized that she was light as a feather - almost totally weightless. Because of this, I realized that I was dreaming. (I'm glad that she was understanding, when I told her about that part. Lol.)

Once lucid, I set her down and began to roam about the kitchen, trying to think of what I wanted to do with my lucidity. My usual, first order of business is to stabilize the dream, so I reached out to the wall and ran my fingers along it, taking in the texture and paying a good bit of attention to it. Then, I remembered my totem. I held up my right hand and began to rub my ring with my thumb, looking down at the inscription and anticipating at least some sort of change. (The ring in the pic above is my actual ring.) The text began to glow a bright white, and it helped me to remember that I wanted to try out the ring as something of a conduit for dream "powers".

The room had changed, and I was now walking through an area with other people. Stepping up to one, random DC, I held up my hand, palm out, and attempted to conjure fire from the ring. I got nothing, though. Curious as to whether or not I would find a different hand position more comfortable, I made my hand into a fist and held that out to the nearest person to me, instead. My attempts to shoot flames from the ring had - again - failed, and I got a little frustrated. The last thing I remember was trying a few more methods to conjure fire before the dream, itself, faded, and I woke up.
