"Haunted House Task Attempt" - 10/03/2007 (Lucid)

"Haunted House Task Attempt"
10/03/2007
Dream #2
(Lucid)

The first thing I remember of this one is being in an execution chamber. Some guy was about to be put to death for some sort of crime, and I was one of the people in the "audience." (Is that what the call the groups of people watching this kinda thing?) Instead of sitting, I was kinda walking around the chamber. Near the opening to the chamber, I remember seeing this strange, black-shrouded figure just standing there, looking into the chamber. It looked like Death, himself, but I couldn't tell because I could only see the figure from the side and the hood was pulled up over his/head.

In another small corner/room, somewhere near the chamber, a woman had followed me in. Before I even knew what was going on, she came up to me and started seducing me. It was somewhat dark in the room and there seemed to be a shadow over her face. It didn't take her long to win me over and, soon enough, we were making out, pretty heavily, in the small room. As things were heating up, I wanted to get a better look at her and so I planted her back up against the wall where a light was coming in through the window. When I looked up, I saw that she was probably 65 years old or so!

Instantly, I could tell, by her expression, that she was hurt by my surprise at how old she was, and that she knew that I was probably not going to let this go any further. All of a sudden, the realization came to me... I smiled at her and said, "Don't worry, we can do something about that. This is just a dream, anyway." I put both hands above her forehead, saying "Let's try to bring you back a few years," and slowly brushed my hands down the front of her face. As they moved lower, I could tell that my suggestion had worked. She, now, seemed between about 19 and 23 or so, with short, purple and blonde streaked hair. She smiled at me and we continued to go at it. I pulled her away from the wall and slid around behind her, embracing her with one hand up her shirt, and one down the front of her pants, kissing the side of her neck.

I heard something outside and looked at the windows that surrounded the room on three sides. There was a huge group of people out there watching us. They started banging on the windows, obviously pissed off, yelling things like "Hey!! What are you doing in there??!" and "Get away from her, you alien!!" (Whatever the hell that meant. ) They had flashlights and kept shining them in our faces. We continuously screamed at them, to leave us alone, but they simply wouldn't leave. Finally, I got pissed off and stepped away from the girl, for a second. I put up my fists in front of me and screamed "Rrrrraaaaaaahhhh!!" pushing energy outward from myself. All the glass windows shattered outward and knocked everyone outside on their asses, like I was a bomb that had just gone off in the room. Even the girl in the room with me ducked and covered.

The sound of raining glass subsided and the crowd got back on their feet. I thought they would have left us alone, but they came back and kept yelling at us through the window. They said the cops were coming and we were going to get in trouble. I told the girl just to forget about them, because this was my dream, anyway. Just as we started making out again, more flashlights appeared - this time, attached to taser guns. Two cops had showed up and were ordering us out of the room.

Finally, fed up, I said "Fine. You want me to come out there?" I left the girl in the room and flew out through the window. The cops kept telling me to get on the ground or they were going to taser me and I said something like "You guys just have no idea what you're dealing with here, do you?" I held up one hand and pointed at one cop's taser gun. Flicking my wrist, I telekinetically made him point the taser at his partner and shoot him in the chest. No electricity ran through it, though. The guy pulled the prongs out of his chest and they both turned on me and fired. The prongs stuck in my chest and they felt like staples. Again, though, no electricity ran through them. What really hurt, however, was when I tried to pull them out. It was like they had reverse-hooks in them, like arrowheads, and tore at the skin when I had to yank them out. (I've never been tasered, before - and I don't own one - so I don't know if they actually have those hooks on them. Probably.) The cops kept firing them at me again, so I started to fly backward. I happened to see a power-line hanging over them and I mentally made on of the cops turn and fire his taser up at the power-line, trying to electrocute him. Again, there was no exchange of electricity. I didn't feel very grounded, in this dream, though, and it was beginning to unravel, so I decided to ditch the cops and fly away, before I woke up from trying to concentrate too hard.

I landed in front of a house in the neighborhood and remembered the current, Halloween-themed Task of the Month, from the DreamViews forums, which was, simply, to explore a Haunted House. The house looked more homely than haunted, and there was a porch light on, which definitely ruined the effect, so I turned around and faced the other way, trying to see if I could make it transform by the time I turned back around to look at it. While I was looking the other way, some guy ran up to me and said that the cops were chasing him, too, and asked if he could hide out with me. I said "yeah," and turned back around to the house. It hadn't changed. I thought that maybe I could simply change the inside into a spooky house. Reaching around behind me, I visualized an imitation Ghostbusters Proton Blaster into existence and swung it around in front of me. It was very faint and unsolidified, but it was there.

Opening the front door, I walked in and found...disappointingly...a normal house. There was a bunch of kids roaming around, as I went from room to room. I cracked open one door, and a couple in bed jumped at the sight of my ghost gun and covered themselves up with the blankets, defensively. I left them alone and walked up into the attic, hoping to find something haunting around up there. After a while, in the dark, I was further disappointed to have encountered nothing. Without bothering to go back the way I came, I justphased down through the floor and went to go find another house. On the way out, I tried to phase through the front wall but ended up running into it, instead. I tried again and, as I went through the wall, everything went black. I could feel myself waking up, so I completely relaxed and just tried to visualize the outside of the house. Soon, I was back on the porch, having more "teleported" to the front of the house, rather than gone through the wall.

I was getting really frustrated at how unstable my dream and control were, so I decided to just go flying for a while, as things weren't looking really promising on the whole "Haunted House" front. As I was flying down the street, I looked at my hands, and they were wavy and distorted but, in the night, I really couldn't see much detail. Then, I looked up at the sky, thinking about trying to fly into space, because, with all the instability, I really couldn't see this dream lasting much longer. I was just about to fly toward the moon when I heard some kid screaming hysterically "Mommy, mommy! I killed Daddy! He's Dead! He's Dead!!" I thought to myself that the kid's dad's ghost might be roaming around, so I went and landed right beside him. I said, "you killed your daddy? Where? Show me?" He said, "over there! He's dead!!" and he pointed to an unlit house across the street.

Immediately, I flew to the house and followed the sidewalk, around to the front door. Sitting on the porch was an old man, slouched over in a chair. From what I could see, it looked like he was missing an eye, but it was hard to tell in the dark. The guy suddenly stirred in his seat and groaned a little. He sat up and looked in my direction. Off to the side, I heard the kid, still screaming, hysterically: "You're supposed to be dead!! You're supposed to be DEAD!!!" like he was just as upset that his dad was alive, as he was when he thought he was dead. That's when I realized that, since the guy had been sitting outside, I wouldn't have completed the task anyway, because the objective was to go into a haunted house. So, still frustrated, I tried to pull out my Proton Blaster, again, and give the guy a good zap, for getting my hopes up. It didn't really materialize, though, and the best I could do was kinda point my fingers at him and make a fake gun noise with my mouth. LOL.

Obviously, he didn't think it was funny, though, because the last thing I remember was him responding to the taunt by getting out of his chair and kicking me square in the nuts...

...Mean old bastard. Lol.

The dream then faded and I sat in a void for a little bit, having felt myself beginning to wake, again. (For a short while, I tried to relax myself back into the dream. It never happened, though, and I opened my eyes and got out of bed.)

"Interceptor" - 11/22/2005 (Lucid)

"Interceptor"
11/22/2005
(Lucid)

(Well, I've been awake for about 14 hours now, so I can hardly remember a thing, at the time of making this journal entry. I remember gaining lucidity, about two or three times during the night. I don't think either instance was prompted by Reality Checks - I simply remembered to recognize when I was dreaming, and I was able to do so.)

At some point, I remember flying. I'd planned to get to the sun, so I could complete the Advanced Lucid Task (which was to fly to the sun, break off a piece, and bring it back to Earth), and I was flying higher than I think I ever have. It was daytime, out,  and there was an amassing of huge, white clouds set against a bright blue sky. I don't remember too much of the flight, but I recall being intercepted by someone, before I was able to reach the atmosphere. I don't know who this guy was - whether some established character, or just one that my subconscious came up with - but we started fighting in mid-air, for some unknown reason. I remember him either kicking or punching me downward at a 45 degree angle that it sent me down toward the earth like a meteor - very Dragon Ball Z-style. I was able to gain a pretty good amount of flight control, which is a good improvement for me, curving my trajectory to skim my back, a few inches above the ground, and came to a smooth hover, looking up as the guy came down toward me.

Again, I don't remember too much of the fight near the ground, but I was able off a move that I did in one of my recent nightmare-turn-lucid dreams: I grabbed him by the throat, jumped into the air with my other hand cocked back and spiked him down toward the ground, with my fist, like a volleyball. He wasn't able to right himself and slammed into the ground, making a crater in the earth that swallowed him beneath the settling rocks. I think I tried to make my way back up to the sun after that, but I don't remember anything else.

"Picking a Fight with Spider-Man" 11/17/2014 (Lucid)

(Over on Dreamviews.com, there is a "Lucid Dare" thread, where you can challenge any other member to attempt any sort of activity, in a lucid dream, that you can think of. A friend's dare for me was to "Fight Spider-Man, without using any lucid dream powers." The first night I attempted this, I was only able to incubate a non-lucid dream involving Spider-Man, where he was being framed for a bank robbery. I gave it another shot, last night, and while I was able to get lucid, things didn't exactly go the way that I had intended...)

"Picking a Fight with Spider-Man"
11/17/2014
(Lucid)

Summary:An attempt to pick a lucid fight with Spider-Man ends in frustration and multiple failures, but still made for a great adventure!

I 'awoke' in my bed. Looking around the room, I could tell that things just seemed 'different'. Eventually, I came to realize that my TV and entertainment center had changed shape and size. There was also a strange feeling about me. I felt like I was in a bit of a daze. Like I wasn't quite 'with it'. I pulled up a glowing clock in front of me (I don't remember if it was on a watch or a cellphone), and I checked the time. Instead of numbers, the clock face began to morph into random letters. A calendar appeared, instead of a clock. I immediately knew that I was dreaming.

Looking at my hands, I attempted to bring the dream into more clarity. It seemed to work, but the room was still dark, so I couldn't quite see exactly what level of detail there was. I took a moment to think about what it was that I wanted to do, stepping over to the bedroom window. I knew I wanted to be outside, so I put my hands up to the window and pressed forward, phasing through the glass and leaning halfway out, taking a good look at my surroundings. It was a still night, and I believe I remember it feeling a little brisk. From the look of the neighborhood, I was back at my old home in Canterbury
(again), and there was a single house across the ditch, which had green Christmas lights on it. It was one of the only things I could see, in the dark.

I remembered Hukif's Dare, about trying to fight Spider-Man, so I floated the rest of the way through the window, and up onto the roof. Instead of my normal roof, it seemed like I was now on the conjoined roofs of some big, sprawling city, with old-fashioned architecture
(such as London). I flew up a few levels, from one rooftop platform to the next. Up ahead, I could see Spider-Man. He was a few levels higher than me, so I elevated to his position and saw that he seemed to be working on something; building some sort of structure. I couldn't tell what it was, but there were barrels of material and scraps laying around. He was clearly focused on what he was doing, and didn't seem to pay me any mind.

He simply ignored me, when I called down to him for a fight, continuing to work on whatever it was he was working on. I thought I might try antagonizing him a bit, so
(having forgotten that one of the caveats of the dare was that I had to fight him without using any dream powers) I slung my hand out and made Spider-Man's trademark gesture, effortlessly causing a string of webbing to fly out of my wrist and cover him from chest to boots. He made some comment about how he didn't want to fight me, sounding as if the idea completely bored him to tears, and then he ripped his way out of the webbing, which flickered away and disappeared like some low-tech video game effect.

All of a sudden, there was a series of explosions, closing in on us from a higher point upon the cluttered stacks of rooftops. Spider-Man said that there was a very powerful villain coming, and he began scampering in the other direction when the explosions began blasting in toward us. I quickly followed him, flying Superman style as we rushed to evade the incoming ordinance. I couldn't see who was actually chasing us, but I was amazed (no pun intended) at the way Spider-Man moved - flipping and twisting and landing on the smallest of surfaces before rebounding off and tucking into all sorts of various, aerial maneuvers. It was a trip to watch, even while making our escape.

Finally, we got back down to the edge of the rooftop on which I had begun. I flew over the side and landed to the ground in front of my bedroom window. I believe I was going to phase back through the window, to head inside, but it was right around here when the dream reset itself.

I was back in my room, on my bed, and looking around in the dark. This time, my TV was on, so there was a dim glow that I don't believe was there, the first time around. Spider-Man and the heavily-armed mystery villain were nowhere to be seen. Still lucid, I sat in bed for a few moments and attempted to ground myself into the dream again. I started rubbing my hands and feeling around on my arms, to focus on the texture. This time, I could see a strange black set of tattoos, which ran halfway up my arm. The were symbols, or abstract objects, which kind of looked like the bones of a spinal column, from my wrist to the top of my forearm.

Getting out of bed and walking to the TV, I wanted to try and use it for a scene change. I can't remember what program was showing, but I pushed my face up to the screen and attempted to 'go into' the TV, itself. After a few moments, everything had just gone dark. I pulled my head away and saw that what was once a TV, had transformed into some sort of cabinet or dresser. Frustrated, and attempting to test my level of control in this dream, I levitated myself a couple of inches from the floor, checking to see if I could stay afloat. Then, after a few seconds, I lowered myself to the ground and slung my first down at it. My fist smashed into the ground with incredible force, and I could feel a sonic boom shake the walls of the home. From what I could tell, I still had at least a little control over things, here.

I knew I wanted to try my hand at Spider-Man, again, but I didn't want to have to waste the time in going to find him. I 'willed' for him to be in the room with me, and he soon walked in through the bedroom door. The lights were on, by now, and he just stood between me and the dresser, as if silently waiting for an explanation as to why he was summoned. I asked him if he wanted to spar, and he simply made some dismissive gesture. He just wasn't having it, apparently, and I was getting nowhere. I decided to try attacking him, again. At first, I was going to try webbing him again, but I remembered about the rules. So, I tried throwing a few punches. It just felt really awkward, and I was hitting nothing but air. I even tried DBZ-style 'rapid-fire punching', but it was just like he wasn't even there. I couldn't tell if he was moving too fast for me to see him, or I was just punching 'through' him. Going for broke, I jumped up and threw a double drop-kick right at his chest. It was powerful enough to knock him back against the cabinet and send me hovering across the room and smashing into the wall behind me. Ultimately, though, he brushed it off and stood up straight once again.

I was growing more and more frustrated, and I really didn't want to end this dream in a complete failure, since this jackass was too stubborn to want to fight me. I wanted to fight someone, at least. Phasing back through the window, I took off into the (still night) sky, leaving Spider-Man to his anti-social self. Screw him, anyway. I wanted to fight Goku!

The dream went into this really weird, very trippy flight sequence, where the sky would turn this kaleidoscope of colors while I went on my search for Goku. There were weird creatures flying around, and some of them were talking all kinds of nonsense. Everything turned 2-D and cartoonish. Total DBZ environment. It actually looked a lot like I was flying through Snake Way.

The clouds cleared, and I was then flying over a mountainous terrain while one of the creatures were telling me about how some villains were hiding in the caves and building a huge 'space craft'
(and that this was inherently bad, for some reason or another), so I decided to go and find them. I landed at the mouth of a cave and wandered into the darkness, growing slightly anxious at what I might find, but trying to keep my anxiety down, so as not to produce a nightmare. While walking through the winding tunnel, dragging one hand along the rocky wall in order to keep myself grounded by feeling around the environment, I was suddenly confronted by two alien henchmen. Immediately, I curled my hand into a fist and charged a sphere of energy around it. It even made the familiar sound effect of a ki blast charging, from the DBZ cartoon (though it was unintentional, and it was funny when I heard it, because it was completely unexpected). I quickly spun in place and fired two blasts from my hand at the henchmen, the explosions filling the hallway with smoke and debris. When the smoke began to fade, I saw that at least one of them were still standing. I dashed toward him and tried swinging a barrage of punches. However, all I got was the 'underwater' feeling that I sometimes get when trying to punch things. Through the smoke, I could hear the alien laugh and say something like "you're funny," in a completely childish manner. Just as this was beginning to frustrate me, the dream scene changed again.

I was then at my Aunt's house
(but it was different than it is in waking life), and sitting on her couch. I was still lucid, and beginning to think that this dream wasn't going to be lasting much longer, so I began trying to backtrack and go over the past events of the dream in my head, in order to keep the memories fresh in my mind. My cousin came out from a bedroom, and she had another (gorgeous girl) with her, whom was also being identified as another cousin, even though she was a complete stranger to me. They said that they had just voted, for their first time, and were tired after doing a lot of studying on the candidates and the voting process. It was around here, when I noticed that neither of them were wearing any clothes. Unable to resist, I started sizing up the unfamiliar girl, and getting a little 'hands-on'.

Not wanting the dream to fade, I looked at my hands again, not wanting another premature scene change. I noticed that the weird tattoo I'd had before had returned, and it was now going all the way up my arm, to the shoulder. When I looked back at the girls, I saw that they had similar markings up their arms, as well as parts of their faces and heads. It was very tribal-looking, and kind of cool, but I already had my intentions set. The unfamiliar girl and I began to fool around on the couch, but just as things were starting to really get going
(keeping it vague and appropriate, since I'm writing this while at work. :P), I felt the clarity of the dream slipping away from me. I tried to run my fingers along her skin some more, to keep things going, but I was already stuck with the idea of waking up, and the thought of the dream ending pulled me too far away from it all to get it back.

Having just barely started with this tattooed beauty, I woke up.

"Escort Servicemen" - 08/22/2011

"Escort Servicemen"
08/22/2011
Dream #1

I was a soldier during a modern war, and we men were going through some sort of archaic rite of passage, where we had to choose wives from a crowd of random women, and prove ourselves capable of being their protectors/providers by escorting them through this sort of 'bonding' exercise. That exercise consisted of leading them into a hostile area - which was, basically, a live-fire obstacle course - reaching a checkpoint at about 100 yards, and then escorting them back to our camp.

The twist was that we men were given blast-resistant suits, and the women were made to remain in their civilian clothing. With our flack suits, we men had to shield our prospective women with our bodies, while escorting them across the killing field, constantly maneuvering ourselves to block the bullets and explosive blasts that were barreling in on us from all sides. The conditions were hellish, moving from cover to cover, while getting tagged by all kinds of ammunition, and staggering through the explosions with bullets zipping by our ladies' uncovered bodies. We did our best to traverse the field, but I watched many couples die in their attempts, either blown apart by ordinance or gunned down by shots to unprotected areas.

The smoke was blinding, and the explosions were disorienting, but my potential bride and I had finally made it to the end of the field. This area was like the hornets' nest, and the resistance greatly intensified. I don't even remember the moment at which we hit the checkpoint and began our way back, but we were soon huddling back toward camp, fighting off the continued barrage. The finish line wasn't too far away, when I noticed that I couldn't feel the woman in my padded arms anymore. Looking down at the hollow between my arms, I saw that she was nowhere to be found. Immediately, I knew what happened, stopping in place and turning back to face the checkpoint we had last passed. It was now being swarmed with enemy combatants, and I knew that I had somehow lost her in the fray. For a moment, I tried to muscle my way back toward the checkpoint, but I was getting hammered with heavy machine gun fire and RPG's; smoke trails streaming out from the 'hornets next' and detonating on and around my huge, cumbersome flack suit.

Finally, I caught a glimpse of her, through the smoke and flames, and she was being hanged. I can't remember if I actually saw her, or just a silhouette, but I remember the image of her dangling from the noose, before being cut down and then impaled on a spike, for good measure, as if to be propped up for show. At this point, I knew there was nothing I could do and I turned to make my way back to camp, feeling absolutely horrible about my failure...and still getting rocked by explosions and assaulted with gunfire. On the way back, I found another woman on the ground. Her protector had been killed in the chaos, ahead of her, and she was left down in the dirt, completely helpless. I lifted her to her feet and shielded her as I had done with the other woman, guiding her the rest of the way back to camp to meet up with the rest of the survivors. At this point, I didn't know or care whether or not saving someone else was 'allowed' in the trial, but I wasn't going to leave anyone else behind.

I don't remember anything that happened when I got there, though.
