"Hiro's Hero's" / "Future Hiro" - 10/22/2007 (Chain)

"Hiro's Heroes"
10/22/2007
Dream #1
(Part One)

I was Hiro Nakamura, a time-manipulating character from the TV show "Heroes," and was in Feudal Japan. I was training with Kensei and was completely whooping his ass. Mostly playing the defensive, though, I spent most of time dodging and blocking his sword, as he swung it at me. He began getting really pissed, because nothing that he did was having any sort of effect on me, no matter how hard he tried.

After a short while, my perspective switched to a disembodied observer, and I was now following a young girl, from another village. She seemed like a really nice girl, at first, but then, she suited up in a ninja dogi. Obviously, she was taught that the "Heroes" and I were evil, and she was on a mission to kill us. Still just an "observer," my perspective followed her, as she ran through the plains and toward our camp.

Now (coming back into myself, as Hiro), Kensei, Ted, and at least two other "Heroes" characters were training - outside, at this point, instead of inside. I was swordfighting with Ted, and Kensei stood by, watching. I kept beating Ted, but he wasn't doing too badly, and this was making Kensei even more pissed.

Finally, Kensei came in and wanted another shot at me, being really arrogant about it. I started swordfighting him and, again, just had him completely outclassed. I blocked everything he threw at me, with hardly even the slightest effort. At one point, I spun around, parrying one of his strikes and, in the same motion, I dove in toward him, landing on the ground with the side of my body and swiping my sword, catching him in the shin. (We were using wooden swords to practice with.) When I stood up, he was so mad that, being only about three feet away, he threw his sword at me as hard as he could, hilt first. I simply shifted my upperbody, turning my left shoulder out of the way with an almost super-human speed, without the slighest expression of concern, and the sword flew right passed me.

My perspective then switched, again, and showed the ninja girl rushing into our village. She came upon one of the village gaurds and took him out with this badass twisting, backflip-kick. Upon landing, she pulled out a bow and grabbed a huge handful of arrows, stringing them all in the quiver, at once. She released them into the village and her arrows rained down over the people that were outside. The massacre looked more like a cartoon or anime, than anything else, though.

Realizing that this girl was killing everyone, we ran to intercept her, and she and I started fighting. After fighting for a couple of moments, the last thing I remember is some disembodied voice starting a song-number ridiculing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her family. (Where that came from, I don't know, but I don't remember anything after that.)

"Future Hiro"
Dream #1
(Part Two)

I was still Hiro from Heroes, but this was a time-period before I'd learned to control my powers. I remember riding in an elevator with some strange guy that kinda reminded me of Jack Black. All of a sudden, the elevator stopped, and the doors open. Future Hiro (in essense: myself) was standing in front of us, and he handed me a large, silver case. He said something, that was likely important, but I forgot what it was. However, whatever it was, it had let the stranger know that the man before us was me, from the future. Future Hiro, then, left. The doors closed, and the elevator starting up, again. The whole time, while I continued holding onto this case, the guy beside me was completely flipping out, due to the knowledge that we'd both just met my future self.

"When the Moon Comes Out" - 05/09/2019

"When the Moon Comes Out"
05/09/2019

I was with my best friend, T, in a school gymnasium. Apparently, we were being sent on some mission, where we would be transported through time and space, for a major battle. This would be a time-dilated experience, so, even if we took days to get the job done, only seconds would have passed, to everyone around us, by the time we got back home. A crowd watched, while we walked up into the bleachers, donning armored suits and taking our choice of weaponry from a scattered pile near the top. I remember assembling and disassembling various gun parts, in order to customize my loadout, and we both walked back down to the floor, carrying beefy, dual rifles, with all kinds of accessories on them. I don't remember much of the actual trip through space/time, but I recall that it had to do with some sort of ritual that had to be performed by the people who were sending us on the journey.
The next thing I knew, I was "waking up," in an all-white bedroom - either in a crouched position, or sitting in a chair. I don't remember which, but I got the feeling of "coming to," in a position of rest. Looking around this unfamiliar setting - unarmed, as it seems my armor and weapons had disappeared - I tried to get my bearings and remembered having been sent on this other-worldly mission. A strange sensation of "not-quite-lucid" washed over me, as I felt a very surreal nature to this place. It felt very cerebral, almost dream-like, in sense that I felt any anxiety I might feel may actually manifest into a bad situation, here. Despite the fact that I was surrounded by pearl-white decor, with daylight beaming in through the windows, there was an unsettling stillness about this house. Trying to push the tension out of my mind, I began exploring my way through the deathly-silent house, eventually making it to a back door.
Outside, it was a completely different scene. There were plenty of people, milling around. Children ran about the yard, as if there was some family get-together going on. After some walking, I was approached by three, burly, Latino men who, for some reason, decided to start shit with me. I don't remember many details of the fight which ensued, but I know that it still had that 'almost-lucid' feel to it. I had them supernaturally outclassed, leaving two of them writhing around in the grass, in paint, with the other one backing away from me and asking for mercy. He actually asked if I would stick with them and help be their "bodyguard," so to speak, whenever they ran into trouble. Lol. I simply declined.
Shortly afterward, I could see that people were beginning to disperse from the area, in a fashion that immediately implied that they were seeking shelter. The doors and windows of neighboring houses were being closed and shuttered. I noticed that the atmosphere was growing increasingly overcast, and a very distinctly ominous wind was beginning to swell. Even the tough guys I'd encountered were scrambling away, and I could hear them mentioning something about "what happens when the moon comes out." Suddenly, the revelation hit me that I may not know what was going on, but I should probably seek some kind of shelter, myself.

I ran to the nearest building, which, I believe, started out as just another house. Once inside, though, it morphed into a run-down slum of an apartment building. The hallways were dark and cluttered, with peeling walls and holes in every other surface. People were still shutting and shuttering their doors, so I decided to just keep searching until I could find a suitable place for myself, rather than attempting to deal with any of these strangers. Before long, I was stopped by a woman who stepped out from the shadows of a doorway - a white woman, a few years older than me, with somewhat frizzled hair and a hardened look to her. She seemed familiar, and I soon recognized her as who I believed to be one of the faces in the crowd, back in the gymnasium I had been in before making the jump through space/time.

Hurriedly, she told me to follow her and started leading me up one of the winding stairwells of this apartment building, explaining to me about the "monsters," that flood this town, after dark. As we traversed to the higher levels of the building, I could see that the weather was quickly deteriorating, outside. The wind was now howling loudly, and night was falling ridiculously fast. I remember asking more questions about these monster attacks, and - though I don't recall what one, specific question was - I recall her answering me, very dismissively, with: "Well, it doesn't really matter, because nobody else here is likely to survive the night, but us."

At one point, she motioned for me to crouch and be quiet. I immediately complied, and she pointed up to a huge hole in the wall, rounding off the next flight of stairs. Through the hole, I could see the lights of a helicopter, ascending just outside of the building. It had a cargo palette suspended beneath it and, as the palette rose into view, I could see a large, bulky object resting upon it - definitely some kind of monster. It was either sleeping or sedated, with a body about the size of a rhino, and a face like a cephalopod (squid-like), with tentacles hanging from its snout. It was clear that there was a human faction releasing or aiding these monsters, and this woman knew all about it.
Eventually, we made it to one of the higher floors, and she showed me her hideout, which had heavy, metal barricade shutters. We spent the rest of the dream riding out the night in the safe house, but I don't remember else.

"Space Cowboy" - 10/16/2007

"Space Cowboy"
10/16/2007

(Had a multi-vitamin, and a really messed-up dream, last night. The weirdest thing about it was that the time period kept jumping - first I would be in the Old West, and then I would be in futuristic space, with mixed up elements of each, in between.)

It seems that I was a Special Agent, and pilot of my own space ship. I also had a beautiful, possibly-Spanish wife or girlfriend, who was very pregnant with my child.

In the beginning of the dream, I remember working on my ship - which was docked on the water - when an assassin had come in and tried to kill me. We had gotten into a firefight, and he dove into the water through a portal in the bottom of the ship. I chased him down, swimming through this long, glass tunnel of water, but he closed a heavy, electronic door at the end before I could get to him, sealing me off and making his escape. I returned to my ship and continued doing what I was doing.

The dream skipped ahead and my girl and I, along with a bunch of others, were now in the Old West. We were shacked up in some hotel and my girl was in the room by herself. I'd gotten a phone call (yes, a phone call, in the Old West!) and it was the leader of the organization that had sent the assassin - my nemesis. He told me that my main priority should be looking out for my wife/girlfriend - in a way that could only be taken as a threat - and then he abruptly hung up. Frantic, I got to the room as quickly as possible and, without alarming her, began to check all the different quarters within our hotel room (which was about the size of a large apartment unit).

In one of the bedrooms, I found a guy who was nearly naked, sitting on the floor, Indian-style, with his back facing me and his head bowed. Gun drawn, I moved upon him slowly and ordered him to get up. When he did, he was completely calm - submissive. He didn't do or say anything, and he just kind of looked at the floor the whole time. I took out a pair of handcuffs and brought his arms up behind his head. This guy was so skinny that I was able to put the handcuffs around his biceps, somehow running the chain through a necklace he was wearing and keeping the handcuffs positioned behind his head, which I'm sure was very uncomfortable. I, then, walked him into the bathroom and sat him in the tub, figuring that, with his arms the way they were, it would be hard for him to get out. I can't remember if I called somebody to pick him up, after that, or what, but the dream skipped ahead again.

It was the next day, and the intruder had been taken care of. My girl was in the shower and we were getting ready to go down to this huge festival that was right outside the hotel. Once outside, everybody in our group was sharing a big table, and we were listening to some live music under the festival tent. After a short while, my girl started to say that she wasn't feeling very well. That her stomach was upset. One of the other ladies said that she would walk her upstairs and stay with her while she lay down.

Some time passed and I decided to go up and check on her. There was a lot of commotion going on, upstairs, and I could tell that something was wrong. When I got to our room, there was a ruckus coming from inside, and a sign was on the door which said something close to: "Please do not disturb. Medical emergency due to miscarriage" (paraphrase). I ran into the room to see my girl laying on the bed, and she looked very sick. There was a doctor already there, and he/she (can't remember which, because I know there was at least another female there) told me that my girl had been poisoned, that she was fighting for her life, and we had already lost the baby; who couldn't have been any more than a month or so from birth. Immediately, I flashed back to the assassin. He had poisoned the water while he was in the house. I had rationalized that the assassin had, somehow, been able to do it after I had put him in the tub.

The doctor didn't allow me to stay, because I would only get in the way, and he told me that they would do what they could and update me on her condition.

Time skipped ahead, and everything was now in the present, though as far as the story-line, it was the same day. Mom was driving me to my best friend T's house, and then she was going to take us both out somewhere in order to try and get my mind off of things. Now, apparently, the girl with whom I was in the relationship was also one of T's ex-girlfriends (though not a real one, from waking life). When I went inside and told him what was going on with her, he didn't really seem to care. I stressed with him that she could die and asked how he could be so cold. He replied with a scathing comment about how his feelings for her ended way before her and I started dating, and he simply didn't care anymore. We'd almost gotten into a big argument about it and decided to just call off hanging out for the day, until our tempers settled.

Later, I had gone back (to the Old West) and got the news that she actually had died. I remember falling to my knees and crying uncontrollably. Shortly after that, I got called on a mission. Still anguished, I flew my crew to a planet where we had to kill these huge aliens (I think the time jumping was more a jumble of ideas than static adherence to any time period. I didn't even think about it being funny that I still had my Space Ship in the old western period). There was a big war that ensued, and it was wild as hell. The aliens were like 15 foot tall porcupines that stood on two legs and, instead of spines on their backs, they had actual soil and leaves and bushes and plants. This entire area was a vast jungle, so what was on their backs was actually camouflage. When they were down on all fours, you couldn't see them at all. Then, they would just appear out of nowhere and, from the underside, they looked like mutant grizzly bears or something. These guys were nasty, and they were just mutilating us - grabbing men and then just disappearing into their surroundings, making themselves really hard to track and shoot. We did end up winning, though, but I was becoming more and more unstable, over the course of the battle. Depression had taken hold of me and, even after we'd declared victory, I refused to talk to anyone.

Back on the ship, I was walking, through its hallways, I was consumed by despair, and I just couldn't take any of this, anymore. The only thing I could think about, at all, was losing my family. It was eating away at me. I couldn't help but blame myself, convinced that it was after I put the guy in the tub that he was able to pollute the water supply. Crawling into the Captain's chair of the dimly-lit cockpit, I just sat there, staring out into space and thinking about all I'd lost. At one point, some of my crew members peeked in, because they knew that I was going under. They didn't say anything, and though I didn't acknowledge them, I could feel their concern. The door eventually closed and they just left, in silence.

I was too far gone, though. Nothing really seemed to matter anymore, and I wanted out. I got up and left the cockpit, making my way to one of the cargo areas and strapping myself in to one of the smaller, single-pilot ships and firing up its engine. Once I left the main ship, I set a random co-ordinate on this personal craft, having absolutely no idea where I was going (as far as I knew, I was just going to the farthest, uninhabited corner of the universe), no food, and no idea how much fuel I had.

Basically saying "f*ck it all," I hit the warp-drive, jumping my ship into the unknown - with no plans of returning or reaching any destination alive.

I just didn't care anymore.
